  1. Yea, But wasn’t …
Yea, But wasn’t SMOG Monster originally from New Jersey?

  2. Still my favorite …
Still my favorite Godzilla movie of all time!

    I remember enjoying …
I remember enjoying this film as a kid, I think i enjoyed all of the Godzilla films from the 50’s threw the 1980’s. It was a great time to be a kid… I remembeWith 28 films.. i think the first Godzilla film i saw was ”Godzilla vs Biollante” and from then on i was hooked…

This film while heavily flawed, is still entertaining. Very weird and Godzilla flying isnt half as bad as his dance in monster zero and the ”Jump kick” in Godzilla vs megalon. I hate jet jagar or whatever.

  4. I really liked this …
I really liked this movie… until the flying scene. That killed it, which made me feel it didn’t count in the series. If it did, it would ruin it for me. Besides, the head of Toho (or something) actually tried to pull it from theaters after he saw it, as he felt it made a mockery of the Godzilla character. I was happy with this conclusion… until I saw him in Final Wars….

  5. This movie is so …
This movie is so brilliantly unique and original. It is incredibly underrated and truly a cult classic. In one moment it seems to be a kid-friendly movie with silly music and animated scenes however in another moment kittens are covered with slime, and humans horrifically vaporized.Strange, yes. Godzilla’s flying methods, laughable, but a true gem this movie is.

  6. I found this movie …
I found this movie to kind of weird since it had weird animated sences showing the smog monster eating smog, people like figures being poisoned and some other crap. Frankly that was all unnessasry since the movie explained it all for it’s self.

  7. I enjoy this film …
I enjoy this film as much as any of the original series. I think that “Godzilla vs. Gigan” (1972) is the only one that is a bit slow. Its also a shame that you can no longer get these original american releases on video. The new DVDs of Son of Godzilla and Godzilla vs. Hedorah are awful. The dubbing is really bad. AIP’s “Smog Monster was better and had the english “Save the Earth” song. The dubbing on the”son” DVD is the pits. The girls voice is painful.

  8. i think you are …
i think you are overcomplicating things. Minilla is simply adopted by Godzilla because he hears his ultrasonic cry for help. I think that many take the title “Son of Godzilla” to literally. But Minilla is definitely supposed to be the same species of mutant as Godzilla. The only difference is that Godzilla was mutated as an adult (theoretically) and Minilla is mutated in the egg. Don’t dissect it, just enjoy it.

  9. Okay, I’m willing …
Okay, I’m willing to believe all of that. But there still is something of a disconnect between the two subjects: God-guy can be a good father to Minilla, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s a friend to humanity. We need to delve into the connection between God-spike’s care for Minilla and his ambiguous attitude toward humanity.

  10. I think I know: …
I think I know: some time around before Godzilla ‘54 was mutated, he had a mate, they had an egg, the bomb hit, the mate died, godzilla ‘54 was mutated, the embryo was mutated(hence why Minilla looks so weird), the egg and embryo survived somehow, godzilla ‘54 buried it for safety, the Kamacuras found it, Minilla hatched, the new godzilla found it, adopted Minilla instictivly and morally, and there you have it. Although this is just my PERSONAL opinion, but it could have went like that.

  11. That was Zilla, …
That was Zilla, actually. Oh, and Minilla is a boy.

  12. This one is …
This one is defiantly the WEIRDEST of the series.

I used to see every …
I used to see every monster movie that came out of Japan – until this movie came out. It was so awful it ruined it for me and I didn’t see another monster movie until Godzilla 1985.

best god zilla film ever i want to the cinema wen i was little and watch it film, i found a great monster battle, and it has remade with me, i got it on 3pack video but i wud love it on. dvd,
    great movie

  16. it is a movie…..
    it is a movie…..

  17. I’m beginning to …
I’m beginning to think that these questions I’ve been asking, questions regarding God-dude’s morality or amorality, motivations, lineage, agenda, likes and dislikes, will never be adequately answered. There’s just no explanation for all the inconsistencies, except to say that a small cartel of Japanese film tycoons are trying to figure out the best way to clean up at the box office, and deploy God-spike accordingly.

  18. Godzilla was never …
Godzilla was never a “friend”; but his son or daughter or watever da Minillia or did, having grown up with humans. Godzilla only killed monsters with other earth monsters because they were threatening him (which also threatens humanity).

Also, humans aided Godzilla and getting rid of alien monsters that tried to control/kill Godzilla.
Dunno who the mom is (though accordin to the US Godzilla, he can produce asexually)

  19. A-ha! A new …
A-ha! A new wrinkle in the argument. I want to hear more about this paternity issue enabling God-guy to discover his love for humanity. Some lineage questions: who (what) is the mother and what is the name of the son?

  20. the first three …
the first three Godzilla movies portray him as evil; I believe it was only after he had a son that he became a friend to mankind

  21. Okay, so the …
Okay, so the God-dude gets a reprieve in this case. Are other cases of murder and mayhem as easily explained away?

  22. goback3spaces, in …
goback3spaces, in Destroy All Monsters Godzilla was controlled by aliens or something. Destroying a city was not the monsters intent. I only like evil Gojira anyway…

  23. so the smog monster …
so the smog monster kills everyone on his path???

  24. lol i guess so, i …
lol i guess so, i was just thinking that it was marketing and stuff you know

or i just figured that he came to understand the people or something, who knows

  25. A-ha! So what …
A-ha! So what you’re saying is: once the God-dude started winning fans among the very people he was murdering, he decided to STOP murdering them, and become their friend. This transition seems not to have been covered or even acknowledged by the movies. Because of this fickleness in his character, it sounds to me like God-baby ain’t nothing more than a big ol’ fire-breathing bully.
