Steppenwolf – Monster

This great song from Steppenwolf never gained the popularity it should have – probably because it’s so long.
I just had fun playing along with it and decided to make this video. I hope it will reach a few people so they can see what a great message John Kay had back then – and that it’s (unfortunately) very – if not more so – relevant today.

  1. But you agree to …
But you agree to pay rich people because they are in trouble they are’e the best of the best?, that’s a socialism at the inverse way, my smart friend

  2. This a good wake up …
This a good wake up song. That is so old. How ever in a Godlesss society it’s only doom and gloom. If any one can look back to history It’s all the same . So hang on . Don’t believe just watch. the electric car is not the answer. who will grow your food?

  3. Heh? Hah. :D
    Heh? Hah. :D

  4. @maryjaneadkisson …
@maryjaneadkisson Thats a radical, non sensical statement..”Go for a walk”..

  5. I just hope …
I just hope baseball cards will always be worth SOMETHING

  6. @maryjaneadkisson …
@maryjaneadkisson Now, now…we both know that isn’t true, but it does show your McCarthyist lack of thought.

All of this is true …
All of this is true. AMERICA is now a comunist country! A MONSTER

  8. wth0987 Just for …
wth0987 Just for the record I am not a Republican. Really meant to say I don’t take checks that I did not earn. You should read the book “How to Live Free in an Unfree World” It was printed in ‘68 at the time of this song. Tells you how not to fall into the trap of those that want to rule you, like Socialists.

  9. redbaroniii….”I …
redbaroniii….”I have the VA’s help.” “All of this you can do without any government.” “I refuse to take any check from the government.”

Brilliant! Almost smart enough to vote Republican.

  10. @intotheflood100 …
@intotheflood100 You know my socialit friend. I am starting to think that the idea of all of us paying for all of anybody’s health problems will never work. There is not enough money to pay for it. That is what ruined Russia, China gave up on that “freebie” idea years ago. No matter what there is still more money to be spent.

  11. @intotheflood100 I …
@intotheflood100 I am old enough but I refuse to take any check form the Government, no sir I shall work at my modest living (less that $20,000.00 a year) until I die (shot by a jealous husband.)

  12. @intotheflood100 So …
@intotheflood100 So I see my socialist friend. Your gripe is that you think insurance companies must pay for all claims, with out review, cover all and spend everything for everything. Government won’t change that, Canadians are die like flies because their government won’t pay, England They won’t help Cancer patiance that smoked. they just let people die and there is no appeal to government when they say “No.”

    these are “little …
these are “little health problems” we are talking about, those are covered. What we are talking about are insurance companies denying women because they had a c section, what we are talking about are insurance companies denying treatment to people who have paid their bills.

It’s great that you healthy and aren’t in that kind of situation, but there are plenty of people who are, who aren’t exactly poor either.

    unfortunatly, not …
unfortunatly, not everyone has access to your healthcare plan. Just like not everyone has access to the healthcare plan the politicians have. You know the system is broken when you have people who are making decent livings, going broke because they have cancer and the insurance company won’t cover their treatment. What exactly are they paying for if the insurance company isn’t chipping in?

on a different note, thank you for your service to this nation.

  16. @intotheflood100 …
@intotheflood100 Not me my helpless socialist friend I am too tough, and wise to place myself in a position to be screwed by Insurance or socialists. I survied a of a lot more than some little health problem.

  17. @intotheflood100 …
@intotheflood100 Wrong my socialist friend. The best health care plan is mine. No insurance company rips me off. I saved and have enough to take care of my self. If that is not enough I have the Veterans Hospitals help that I earned with some combat time. All of this you can do without any Government. Hells bells you think the insurance companies are ripping you off just wait to see what the Government will do. Oh and Hawaii repealed much of its progam.

  18. intotheflood100 on March 14th, 2010 at 12:38 pm

    really, so would …
really, so would you be willing to give your medicare and social security checks back to government when you receive them since they are such a “failures”?

  19. intotheflood100 on March 14th, 2010 at 12:38 pm

    Movie companies …
Movie companies dont control whether or not you die. They dont deprive you of medicine that you NEED in order to survive.

I hope for you’re sake that if you ever do get sick under the current system that the treatments you can pay for because otherwise you’re screwed

  20. intotheflood100 on March 14th, 2010 at 12:38 pm

Let me also ask you …
Let me also ask you this, what state in the Union is widely regarded as having the best healthcare system? Forbes and dozens of companies agree that it it’s…..

Hawaii, which happens to have universal healthcare for all of it’s citizens.

  21. @intotheflood100 …
@intotheflood100 Russia liked to call themselves Socialists, They know b3etter than you or I what they were. Insurance companies are not ripping us off they make a modest profit, that is legal and good. The Movies are ripping us off, $15.00 to watch a movie, YIKES ! We must control Big Movie companies and all of ever industry, just like Russia…. Right?

  22. @intotheflood100 …
@intotheflood100 Look at the facts, my friend. FDR was wrong. The new deal was a screw deal. Medicare, Social Security, Minimum Wage, Welfare are all FAILURES !!!

And note the cost is actually two trillion, not one, and that is Government costs your cost will be over 3 times what you pay now for health care. It is unsustainable (that means we won’t survive).

  23. intotheflood100 on March 14th, 2010 at 12:38 pm

    Well, Russia was …
Well, Russia was COMMUNIST, which is different than SOCIALIST. Secondly, how is our insurance companies letting people die any different than what you mentioned? OUR insurances companies are taking our money then leaving us high and dry when we need them the most. I fail to see how you think that is justified. The insurances companies have complete control over whether or not you go broke when you’re sick. Preexisting condition clauses are some of the most vile loopholes in the world today.

  24. intotheflood100 on March 14th, 2010 at 12:38 pm

    Look at the facts, …
Look at the facts, America has had Socialist Policies in acted for generations, Medicare? Social Security? Minimum Wage? welfare?

We have survived with these policies, just like we will survive with the healthcare bill. It’s also worth noting that once we pull out the war in Iraq ( which is a war for Oil profits, and Halliburton) that money could very easily finance this bill. Obama’s bill would cost 1 trillion over 10, the war in Iraq has cost 1 trillion since it’s started.

  25. seriously want to …
seriously want to argue about helping a weaker person or not do you?
and finally: a little socialist touch or simpley HUMAN touch would to very well for the american politics!!!
