What is the connection between Monster and Careerbuilder and online colleges?

Hi All,

I have often wondered what the connection is between Monster and online schools (colleges). You cannot enter or leave the website without passing through a form inquiring if you want to register to attend X online university. Ditto for CareerBuilder.

Are these job boards owned by a college consortium of some sort? Thanks.

no, that’s just how they make their money. the colleges pay them for the privilege of spamming you raw.
they figure that people who are unemployed are easy targets for a career change or maybe they are fed up with dead end jobs.
